Shabbona Fireworks will be on July 4, 2010 at the Shabbona Lake State Park.

Shabbona community members gathered April 28 to work out a plan to continue the annual Village fireworks established over 25 years ago by the Shabbona Fire Department.

The Fire Department, several businesses and citizens have pledged to work on raising funds to continue the annual Fireworks display for years to come. The interest has been very encouraging to support the Shabbona Fireworks financially and with volunteer hours. A non profit organization named “Shabbona Fireworks” is being formed. Everyone is welcome to participate with donations and involvement. This is billed as a “Unified Community Project” and regardless of your position on other community issues, residents can all work in harmony for continuing the wonderful tradition of fireworks in Shabbona for all to enjoy.
